Road Trip

Thinking of how quickly time flies, I totally forgot about the road trip we did last year, though it sounds like last year, we did the trip after Christmas so it wasn't too long ago.
After about am hour of driving we stopped at Popeyes to have some lunch and that where he started to yawn.

The most amazing thing that happened, was that Arnav was sitting in high chair and having real fun. He looked like a little man sitting on his own and ready to eat

My First Snow

One picture speaks thousand words, someone said it rightly. I am so happy to write how happy we were seeing Arnav enjoy his first snow, that too even before his first year:). Richmond was all in snow, must be atleast 1 foot of snow. I can tell clearing the driveway was a lot of work and offcourse fun too. Snow brings a amazing calm into the life and we felt the same over this weekend. The drive in the nearby areas was amazing, I havent seen anything like that before, all of the vast land just full of snow and no one walked on it.

We just felt amazing. I promise to make a snow man next year:) You are just so little to help mom and dad making the snowman:)

Gaining weight:) yuppy

During our last checkup Arnav weighed well between 5 to 10percentile. I was almost thinking he was headed to below 5 percentile. One amazing thing happened though, just 2 days before his checkup in December I happen to pick "Babywise" book in the library and started reading it like crazy just to understand what was wrong...I was quiet surprised with things I learned, some of the things started working immediately like I had Arnav put on a 12 hour sleeping at night, atleast it did work first night, since before that he was hardly sleeping 8-9 hours.
It was one of my happiest day when we had his first 4 oz baby food during lunch eat it right till the end...I am beginning to see some improvements in his weight.
Doctor however wasn't bothered at all since both of us are kind of petite, doctor believes its alright. Other then that, am having so much fun with everything that Arnav is doing.
To all the other moms worried about baby weight this book might help, it did seem to apply to us very well.

My First Thanksgiving

Excitement of Thanksgiving set Mom and dad to work little extra with thawing turkey that took almost 3 days and baked cookies that took hardly an hour to prepare.

This was also the first time dad wanted to bake turkey all by himself and guess what all this inspiration came from our other friends who always baked for us in most of our gatherings.
Here's how turkey looked before going in over

And after being in oven for almost 3 and half long hours, it was amazing,

Mom was obviously so excited with the idea of baking cookies for friends and family, since she loved cookies all her life and never knew to bake them all by herself.

Mom added some artwork also for Arny and "heart" cookies to remind Arnav how much we love him:)

There is no better time to be with friends and family on Thanksgiving, so we baked everything and drove to friends place to savor them all. It was a lot of fun and great time that filled our heart with joy.

As far as Arnav goes, he tasted none of those and the seeing the big turkey did bring lot of surprise for him. I guess he was so thrilled by mere size of turkey that he thought let me not touch it, seems to big to eat:)

First Photo session at 7 week

Seven months - not gaining much weight!!!

it's hard to realize how time flies.

Our dear son Arny turned seven months yesterday. It's a amazing journey since his birth. Now he sits on his own, cruses to pick toys, book magazine and yeah his all time favorite is trying to get hold of Mom's laptop. His eyes are all set on the keyboard.

I must say even though I thought to start writing as often it didn't really happen. I now see that I should have been writing more often.

We are really so blessed to see our little bundle of joy, laughing, saying aaa ta ta , da da and even mama but that was only one day on November 1st. Its so joyous to see him say dada looking at his daddy but you really have to trick him into saying that with all imagination.
Arny acheived all his milestone well on time, my only worry now is that he started to fall on his weight gain. Of course both of us are petite, I wonder if that has such a role play in his weight gain. His mealtime are not much fun. His appetite is worrying me now. We plan to discuss these issue in much detail on his next week flu shot appointment.

I wonder if there are other moms in the same boat. Please leave a comment might help a worrying mom.

Till the next post be well and happy Thankgiving holidays. I hope to write sooner this time

My First Beach Vacation

I realized how long I took to post this one:(

Arnav's first visit to beach, his first foot on the sand. I remember well he was so awed with the vastness of see or may be because that's what his name means:).

It was nice short trip just a day to Virginia beach. Freshness of nature was all in the air, we had so much just sitting in the beach, taking barefoot walks feeling the wet sand and gush of water smoothly touching. As if the calmness of see of there to embrace.

Arny had no words to describe how he felt, or may be because he is not taking yet:) I must say he was amazingly calm and enjoyed being in nature, he hadn't seen anything like this before.

Hi from Arny

I am three months old today

Dear Son,

I am so happy to start daily log of your happy moments.

You are three months today. Mom and Dad are just so treasured to see you grow.

You started laughing like ha ha and very much like us.....Yesterday you were wanting to look at that other baby in the mirror ...because you like looking at him so much....I am just waiting for the day when you realize that the other baby in the mirror is you:). It was so much fun to see you saying AAA...UU AA to that other baby and smile back in pleasure as the other baby did just like you.
